For my magazine writing class, I wrote explored an issue-based topic that’s very unusual, but interesting nonetheless. Now, there are women who love gay porn. And I love them for that. And here’s a gay porn star that everyone loves, Roman Heart. =)

Who Loves Gay Porn? Women!

Jackie Me is a 23-year-old woman who just graduated from San Francisco State University. With strawberry blond hair and a stature near five feet, three inches, she occupies her life as a medical health counselor. Jackie rolls her eyes as she changes the subject away from her job. Jackie lives in the Villa Towers close to San Francisco State. But on her free time, she does other activities: partying, shopping, and watching movies. She unabashedly admits that she loves porn, particularly gay male porn. Always expecting the shock and disbelief from people, she pops up her Mac Book with a folder of porn. From one digital manila folder pops up attractive guys engaging in sexual activities with normal “straight-looking” guys. One video played a blonde jock flirting with the black coach. With a curious grin, Jackie remarks that she has collected 20 gigabytes of porn: 90 percent is gay while the other 10 percent is straight porn. Why does Jackie Me like gay porn when most women won’t admit it? “I don’t censor myself,” Jackie replies with a straight honest cold-looking face. “I like beautiful men, and with two beautiful men engaging in ‘fun’ activities, it’s even better.”

Cinematic Pornography has been around since the silent era of cinema. One of the first erotic, albeit tame to contemporary viewers, was William Heise’s “The Kiss” in 1896 in which two people kiss. Some of the earliest erotic films, or stag films, were non-American such as the French 1908 film A L’Ecu d’Or ou la bonne auberge.” Films with half-naked bodybuilders posing in films were popular for closeted homosexuals during the 1940s. During the 1970s, the porn industry rose with a niche for the gay community.
The notion that women weren’t sexual traces back to the 1950s as prude housewives. This is more evident with biologist Alfred Kinsey’s research on the female population that they were non-visual unlike their opposite counterparts. A study by the 2004 Nielsen Netratings found that “over nine million American women looked at porn sites in the month of September.”

“Porn has been demonized and stigmatized in our society,” states Jackie. “It’s more common and accepted than people realize.” Jackie and other college students are part of a scene where straight women favor gay porn rather than straight porn. This phenomenon has appeared more often among female college students in San Francisco. Jackie gazes with befuddlement when asked if there are any groups or clubs that cater to her interest. Jackie responds “no” with a sense of sadness as she parts her hair to the left shoulder. She may not know of any clubs, but she certainly knows friends who love gay porn, especially her roommate Emily.

Emily Greene is a green-eyed, 19-year-old San Francisco State student. Her wavy, untamed brunette hair describes her personality as an amalgam of a free-spirit and a wild child. Her attire is simple enough as she wears jeans and a black v-neck, but she accessorizes with a “No on Prop 8” pin, “I voted” sticker, and a silky green fluorescent scarf. “I like porn in general,” said Emily Greene, before taking a shot of Jack Daniels. “Really, it’s just a matter of what’s sexy or not, and gay porn delivers.”

The roommates reveal that they look up their favorite sites together on the weekly updates. Their living room is clean as there is nothing lying on the floor with a simple flower on the coffee table and several coasters for the drinks. Although, their television system carries four gay porn movies, items that would be deemed inappropriate by the masses. Their labtops on their respective desks holds most of the “good stuff.”
“I’m a big fan of men with suits,” Emily proudly states. “And, Jackie loves black men.”

Jackie reveals some of their closest friends also watch porn, and they would proudly announce to the world that they do. Just last month, they enjoyed the Folsom Street Fair where all sexual acts were present. “I saw a man give a blowjob, and then the man ejaculated in a cup,” Emily remembers with vivid description. “It was so far [from what I perceive as normal], but I’ve gotten used to that ever since I started watching gay porn.”

The next day, Emily and Jackie met up with some of their friends. Showering all over San Francisco, the girls stayed in their apartment and discussed the topic of porn. They delved into a topic that gay porn is better than straight porn. “I don’t discriminate. Naked is naked. I like it all,” said Quinn Van Dale, a 22-year-old cinema student. “But it’s distracting when the porn is made for the straight male demographic.”

Quinn is an unusual girl who has jet-black hair. She is wearing a bright, colorful skirt and cowboy boots on a day that is sad and gloomy for San Francisco. She mentions that her outfit is for a class and that she was unaware of the unpredictable weather. Nonetheless, her attire suits her personality. She returns to the subject between the difference of straight and gay porn. She discusses that the stereotypes prevail such as the submissive female and the dominant rapist figure. The personality traits of the girls portrayed as objects while the guys look “ugly” and exude an overt aura of masculinity. “It’s a double negative,” said Quinn. “I’m not getting anything [in straight porn]. The girl is whatever and the guy is ugly.”

Emily and Jackie’s other friend is present at their apartment. Her name is Marianne Gilbert. A 20-year-old, Art History Major at San Francisco State University- She is tall while poised with silky black hair that complement her cylinder-like face shape. Her white dress flows through her body like the pedals of a rose. Marianne finishes Quinn’s comment with “It’s obvious the guys are more attractive. There are very few attractive guys in straight porn cause they’re all older guys.” Marianne adds that gay porn have more attractive men as they groom better and showcase their young physique.

While Marianne celebrates the prospects of porn, she indicates that porn has changed her view on reality. “The more I watch porn,” Marianne reveals as she sits down in Emily and Jackie’s living room. “The pickier I get.” Marianne used to be open to all genres of porn, but has gained a higher standard. She even notices if the guys have the best defining jaw line or what eyes they have. Marianne prefers oval-shaped blue eyes. While also looking at guys on the street, she could naturally picture them naked doing indecent activities.

For all four women, porn has opened a new perspective. Emily likes gay porn because it “is very expressive,” while Jackie, who has no shame, likes it as an interesting conversation starter. Quinn sees that “gay porn can show a genuine love or relationship that explains her hidden emotions.” And Marianne, believes that gay porn has “affirmed [her beliefs] in equal rights.” Either way, these four women enjoy watching two beautiful men violate each other, and they want a sticker that says “Women love Gay Porn. That’s fucking awesome.”
